ADE STATE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) State Systems Administrator is responsible for operating as a software developer and data systems programmer assisting in the development of systems and their related software applications. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:
Functions as a software developer and data systems programmer for the Department of Education’s Statewide Longitudinal Data System, primarily inclusive of the Statewide Information System (SIS).
Develops new software applications within their Statewide Information System (SIS) in the form of abstract of assessment and school funding applications.
Ensures thorough technical support for data collection, analysis, strategy, and development of standardized and evolving metrics, data reports, dashboards, and scorecards in an educational environment.
Collaborates with Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN) student and financial management systems’ stakeholders for Statewide Information System (SIS) programming parameters.
Collaborates with public school district personnel to determine suitable submission cycle.
Provides intermittent technical support for supplemental software applications such as ADE’s accreditation system and state data warehouse.
Ensures adherence to agency data systems documentation protocols and software change control processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of universal methods for developing, maintaining, and altering software applications.
Knowledge of the Arkansas Public School Computer Network.
Knowledge of Microsoft Structured Query Language.
Knowledge of Microsoft .NET software framework.
Knowledge of C# programming language.
Ability to tailor software applications for public school districts throughout the state.
Ability to identify complex problems and develop practical solutions.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, applied mathematics, or a related field; plus four years of experience in systems administration or a related field.
Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
