RADIO PROGRAM DIRECTOR
The Radio Program Director is responsible for managing radio station operations. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Typical Functions:
Provides general supervision of the work of subordinate employees in a radio station operation by making work assignments, establishing deadlines, providing instructions, and reviewing work performed.
Checks audio recordings from satellite feeds for proper content and quality.
Coordinates on-air use of computer audio automation system.
Oversees production work, such as taping, splicing, dubbing, and writing for radio programs.
Develops radio schedules for broadcast, special interest, and music programming.
Maintains computer generated logs and programs for compliance with communication regulations and standards.
Maintains budget, purchases supplies and equipment, and conducts inventory.
Performs on-air broadcasting as needed
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of radio programming requirements.
Knowledge of radio station operations and procedures.
Knowledge of communication procedures and federal rules and regulations
relating to radio broadcasting.
Ability to develop and evaluate on-air radio programs.
Ability to coordinate the use of computer audio automation systems.
Ability to supervise the work of subordinate employees in a radio station operation.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of an associate’s degree in broadcasting, communications, radio/television or related field; plus three years of experience in radio broadcasting or related area, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
